The Indomitable Spirit of America.
1886 – The Statue of Liberty

May welcomes in the 5th single barrel in our America's 250th Birthday Bourbon series celebrating the Indomitable Spirit of America.  This special single barrel honors 1886, the year the Statue of Liberty debuted as a gift from France to the United States honoring the liberty and freedom promised in our constitution and manifested in the soul of our nation.

It stands as the preeminent symbol of the great promise of the American experiment in self-government by the people.  It was and remains the beacon of hope for millions of immigrants seeking a better life for themselves and their children.  It symbolizes the hope that through hard work, determination, and with an indomitable spirit, anyone from anywhere can build a better life here in America.

The essence of the Statue of Liberty represents the most noble aspect of the American Dream.  And we honor that spirit with this special Missouri Straight Bourbon Whiskey.  We made this bourbon from corn, barley, rye, and wheat, aged over 5 years, and bottled in bond to honor its ideal for America’s 250th Birthday.

1886 – The Statue of Liberty

The history of the Statue of Liberty begins in the 1860s, when French historian Édouard de Laboulaye proposed a monumental gift to celebrate the shared ideals of liberty and democracy between France and the United States. Sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi designed the colossal figure, while engineer Gustave Eiffel—later famous for the Eiffel Tower—created its internal iron framework. After years of fundraising and construction on both sides of the Atlantic, the statue was completed in France and shipped in pieces to New York Harbor. Reassembled on Bedloe’s Island, it was dedicated on October 28, 1886, becoming an enduring symbol of freedom and a welcoming sight to millions of immigrants arriving by sea. Over time, the Statue of Liberty has grown into one of America’s most iconic landmarks, representing hope, opportunity, and the promise of a better future.
